DAILY VALUATION ADMINISTRATOR

Full-time, Salaried, Exempt

General Description:          

The Daily Valuation Administrator position supports the pension administration functions of the firm by daily transaction posting, cash and position reconciliation, pricing, income processing, transfer of assets, census and asset review, financial reporting, and error resolution with multiple custodians. 

Essential Duties:      

As a member of the Daily Valuation Processing team you will facilitate the daily operation of 401(k) plan administration and the call center.  You may also support consultants and senior pension administrators on special projects and compliance testing as required.

  • Process periodic payrolls and loan payments
  • Process loan origination, loan fees, loan payments and loan distributions
  • Process Participant requested balance transfers and changes to investment allocations
  • Process Trust and/or Broker Dealer cash transfers between accounts
  • Process cash and unit transfers from and into self-directed brokerage accounts
  • Process Participant distributions/payments
  • Perform account reconciliation between daily and trust accounting database
  • Produce, review and mail periodic Quarterly Statements and participant certificates
  • Produce, review and mail enrollment packages.
  • Post adjustment and fee transactions
  • Respond to retirement plan participant phone calls and emails
  • Assist pension administrators in various Audits as required

Minimum Experience:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent acceptable experience and training.  Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in accounting, portfolio accounting experience desirable.
  • Expected to complete Pension Fundamental courses within first year.
  • Strong PC skills and proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office software packages.

 Critical Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and strong customer service skills are vital due to extensive interaction with clients and/or brokerage firms.
  • Must be detail oriented, with strong analytical and organization skills with the ability to research and resolve problems independently.
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated and a team player, able to respond promptly and accurately to the time critical needs of the business and our clients.
  • Current knowledge of the Define Contribution Plans, basic accounting and investment products are helpful.
  • Must develop understanding of the Daily Valuation department requirements and the portfolio accounting system.

The Daily Valuation Analyst II position supports the overall business operations mainly on pension administration and daily trading side of the firm.

Essential Duties:

As a member of the Daily Valuation Processing team you will facilitate the daily operation of 401(k) plan administration and the call center functions of the firm by daily transaction posting, cash and position reconciliation, pricing, income processing, transfer of assets, census and asset review, financial reporting, and error resolution with multiple custodians.

Daily tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Process periodic payrolls and loan payments

  • Process loan origination, loan fees, loan payments and loan distributions

  • Process Participant requested balance transfers and changes to investment allocations

  • Process Trust and/or Broker Dealer cash transfers between accounts

  • Process cash and unit transfers from and into self-directed brokerage accounts

Key duties and major responsibilities:

As a Consultant you will be responsible for developing and managing new business client relationships through referring sources and other new business development methods as well as selling client services and meeting new client acquisition goals. Attend relevant seminars, meeting, dinners, and other relationship building events. Maintain continual technical development and competence in the functional areas of compensation, strategies, benefits development and administration, and legal compliance (ERISA, DOL, COBRA).

Position Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be a certified public accountant with financial advisory credentials and a minimum of 10 years significant industry experience in accounting and client services, preferably among Big Four firms. Development and administration of employee benefits plans helpful.

A successful Consultant candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of word processing, database and/or spreadsheet software.
  • The ability to successfully organize, balance and manage the demand of multiple projects or cases simultaneously, with high standards for quality of work and adherence to deadlines.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills; ability to review all factors, weigh options and generate appropriate solutions; ability of forward-thinking.
  • Analyze and interpret general business communications, periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; effectively communicate written, oral or graphic information to experts, attorneys, managers, clients and LJA staff.
